Panthers compete at Class Meet

The Johnston boys’ and girls’ cross country teams each sent a few runners to this past weekend’s Class B meet at Ponaganset High School.

The boys’ team had two competitors, with senior Jake Hall leading the way in 69th place. Junior Edward Gallucci took 88th.

For the girls’ side, senior Kayleah Pensalfini finished 68th, with senior Lia Cucinotta taking 69th. Freshman Abby Heiser finished 80th.

The Panthers did not have enough competitors to register a team score. Smithfield won the girls’ race with 42 points, while Barrington won the boys’ race with 25 points.
