MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION

(Action and excitement galore)

There’s action and excitement galore in the latest in the series based on the old TV show.

Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt, top gun in the Impossible Mission crew, but this time the nasty CIA director (Alec Baldwin) has dissolved the secret government agency, making Hunt a hunted man. Things get so bad, and complicated, that the CIA eventually wants the rogue agent dead or alive.

The opening sequence, as seen in the trailers, has Hunt hanging from the side of a plane before things settle down for a moment before taking off for Havana, Vienna, London, Morocco and other exciting locations, chasing the nasty Syndicate and being chased by his own government.

His former boss (Jeremy Renner) still believes in him and comes to his aid, along with his sidekick (Simon Pegg). There’s also a mysterious English spy (or is she?), whose actions are sometimes questionable.

The movie will keep you on the edge of your seat for well over two hours with lots of close calls, including an attempted assassination at the opera and a super motorcycle chase.

Those of us who remember the TV series will enjoy the “Your mission, if you choose to accept it” moment and the clever use of the familiar rubber mask.

Will Hunt rid the world of the evil Syndicate?

Will the Impossible Mission gang be reinstated?

Will there be another sequel?

We hope so.

Rated PG-13, with action and violence.
