“I’m thrilled and honored to become part of the Johnston High School education team,” Salvadore said. “I’m excited about working with such a great group of professionals who are totally committed to providing the best educational experience possible for all our students.”

“We are extremely fortunate to have a professional of Francesca’s caliber join the Johnston High School team,” Johnston High Principal Zachary S. Farrell said. “Francesca is an exceptional educator with a wealth of experience in the classroom, as well as the building and district levels.”

Although she was only selected for the position two weeks ago, Farrell said Salvadore “has hit the ground running. She’s going to be a tremendous asset to our school district and the entire student body in particular.”

Robert DiMuccio, the school’s other assistant principal, noted: “The Providence School System’s loss is indeed a huge gain for Johnston. Francesca Salvadore fits in nicely with our team and she’s a proven and quality educator.”

Salvadore is a 2007 graduate of Rhode Island College with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education mathematics and a bachelor’s degree in secondary education Italian.

Salvadore received a master’s degree in English as a Second Language and cross-cultural studies in 2012 from Brown University.

From June 2013 to 2014, she attended the Principal Residence Network, Center for Leadership and Education Equity, and received certification in administration/educational leadership. She also received certification of Advanced Graduate Studies in 2015.

Salvadore comes to Johnston from the Providence School Department equipped with 13 Core Competencies, ranging from classroom management to creative and culturally-responsive lesson planning to administrative and teaching experience to standardized testing/scoring to special needs studies to working with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

She did her student teaching at Hope High School, where she later was a secondary teacher for grades nine to 12.

Salvadore was also a secondary teacher at Mount Pleasant High school and served as aspiring principal with the Principal Residency Network at Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex, also located in Providence. Her latest experience was as a secondary mathematics instructional school support liaison for the Providence district.

From 2007 until April of this year, Salvadore extended her professional development experience and attended and actively participated in various professional activities at the school, district, state and regional levels.
