It’s party loyalty

Posted

To the Editor:

President George Washington was greatly dismayed as he watched the formation of political parties. He no doubt could foresee the often negative and destructive force it would be to the fledgling nation and beyond and believed it would be the downfall of the nation. In just one example of his foreboding, we now learn that all of Rhode Island’s representatives (Reed, Whitehouse, Cicilline, Langevin) to the nation’s congress and our governor (Raimondo) are supporting Hillary Clinton for president in the coming November election.

Surely, the aforementioned politicians are not promoting her based on her repeated lying, or role in the loss of four Americans in Benghazi where no effort was made to save them, or bungling of her email server to the great peril to our country. Of course, silly us, it’s party loyalty! However, do not despair dear reader, Rhode Islanders would never succumb to such foolishness this November simply because she is of their party (or because she is a woman, an equally valid reason to support her).

[ PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Think you know where your polling place is for next week’s Rhode Island presidential primary? You’d better double check.

The R.I. Board of Elections plans to open only 144 of Rhode Island’s 419 polling places for the April 26 primary, cutting the number by two-thirds compared with a typical November election, which will reduce the cost of administering the vote.]

You might be a supporter of Donald Trump or " socialist " Democrat Bernie Sanders. But I call this sabotaging " democracy " in Rhode Island.

I will be voting for Bernie- somewhere in Cranston -in next Tuesday's Rhode Island Democratic Primary.
