Ida D. Jenkins, 93, of Greenville Avenue, Johnston passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich, after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Jenkins, Sr.

Born in Johnston, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Anna (Mancini) DiMeo. Before retiring, Ida was a jewelry machinist at Monal Findings. The last surviving family member of DiMeo Farm, Ida spent many summers farming their famous blueberries, raspberries and sweet corn. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed competing in her league at Town Hall Lanes until just prior to her illness.

Ida was the mother of Cheryl Jenkins of West Warwick and the late Edward J. Jenkins, Jr. of Middletown. In addition to her daughter, Ida is survived by her granddaughter, Erica Bryson and her husband, Gary of Coventry, and grandsons Richard P. Hart, Jr. (WWFD) and his wife, Julie of Coventry and Scott Jenkins of Warwick. She was the proud great grandmother of Sarah and Anna Bryson and Natalie and Paige Hart. Ida will also be dearly missed by her daughter-in-law, Linda Jenkins of Portsmouth, sister-in-law, Sally Irons of West Warwick and brother-in-law, Thomas Jenkins of Venice, Florida. She was the sister of the late Jennie Bastianelli, Alfred DiMeo, Guido DiMeo, Dorothy DiMeo and Adelaide “Lucy” Ianero.

Her Funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 a.m. from Robbins Funeral Home, Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 p.m.
