Good Friday cleanup
Submitted photo

Students from St. Rocco School and Confirmation III program worked together on April 6, Good Friday, to clean up local neighborhood streets. With help from Deputy Chief David DeCesare, who volunteered to keep the students safe, they cleaned along FM Global's property on Downing Drive and Morgan Avenue near Twin Willow Stables. Some of the things that were found were car batteries, tires, a lampshade, plastic cups and many beer bottles. The students learned firsthand how important it is to put litter where it belongs. More than 10 trash bags were filled and will be picked up by the town. Student volunteers were Julia, Jake and Jessica Pezzullo, Kayla, Michael and Ralph Fleming, Sydney and Jayme DeCesare, Michael Sciacca, Michael Villanueva and Anthony Merola.

Thanks for the good work. It's good to see a young generation that cares.
