Gerard A. “Jerry” Blais, 91, formerly of Johnston, died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Hebert’s Nursing Home. He was a loyal and honorable husband of Edvige F. “Eddye” (Paine) Blais for 62 years.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Emile and Roseanna (Martin) Blais, he had lived in Johnston for many years. Mr. Blais was an Army veteran of World War II and was a textile worker for the former Rochambeau Worsted Company in Manville for 52 years until his retirement.

He was a devoted father to his son, Steven Blais of Smithfield; and beloved grandfather of Michael and Matthew. He was the brother of the late Leonard, Maurice and Raymond and Beatrice Blais.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. Visitation respectfully omitted.
