On Sunday, the residents of the Aime J. Forand Housing for the Elderly, a facility of the Johnston Housing Authority, gathered to swear in and celebrate the new leadership for the year 2013. But it was the New England Patriots that had everyone talking. The swearing in looked like a chapter of a Patriots fan club. Delivering the oath of office to the leadership team, JHA Executive Director David aRusso was decked out in his Patriots gear and Tom Brady jersey. The officers, led by President Beverly Williams, followed “suit.” Joining Williams to be sworn in were Delores Petruska, Catherine Santoro and Lorna Zoglio.

“We have the biggest Pats fans here at Forand, and we are proud to support Patriots Nation,” said Williams. “Believe me, when we planned this event we checked the game time, because we all knew the Pats would get to this championship game.”

The association planned a 1 p.m. event to begin Pats game day with a good family style meal. aRusso complimented the team at Forand for their hard work last year and put his stamp of approval on the theme of the day.

“I cannot say enough about the wonderful work done by this association. They are enthusiastic and host many great events and trips throughout the year. And, as you can see, there is no lack of creativity and spirit,” he said.
