FM Global elects 2 to board of directors

Michel Giannuzzi and Israel Ruiz have been elected to the board of directors of FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers. Giannuzzi is CEO of Paris-based Tarkett, a global maker of sustainable solutions for flooring and sports surfaces. Ruiz is executive vice president and treasurer of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). They join a board comprised of fellow executives from the world’s most sophisticated manufacturing, distribution and service organizations.

Established nearly 200 years ago, FM Global is a mutual insurance company whose capital, scientific research capability and engineering expertise are solely dedicated to property risk management and the resilience of its client-owners.

“Michel Giannuzzi and Israel Ruiz both bring decades of unique and valuable senior management experience to FM Global’s board, including strategy, finance, operations and technology innovation,” said Chairman Shivan S. Subramaniam. “As a mutual company owned by our clients, we’re especially pleased to have colleagues from these longtime policyholders helping direct our strategy.”

Giannuzzi became CEO of Tarkett in September 2007 and has since managed 20 acquisitions, executed an IPO and grown revenue to 2.7 billion euros. Ruiz joined MIT in 2002 and is chief steward of more than $17.7 billion in financial assets and $3.1 billion in operating revenues.
