Elaine A. (Augustine) Yeoman

Elaine A. (Augustine) Yeoman, 92, passed away April 8, 2012 at the Village of Waterman Lake in Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Col. (Ret.) David C. Yeoman for 62 years.
Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Eileen (Harris) Augustine. After spending many years traveling overseas and throughout the U.S. with her husband during his career in the Air Force, she settled in Smithfield in 1988. Elaine attended Bryant College and Indiana University. She was President of the Singing River Art Association in Mississippi where she exhibited paintings in the gallery along with her dear lifelong friends.
She was the mother of Janis Y. Reedy and her husband James W. of Johnston and the late Bruce A. Yeoman. Loving grandmother of Jessica H. Reedy, Matthew C. Tanner, Jennah A. Hubbell, and Julia J. Yeoman; great-grandmother of Aaralyn J. Hubbell.
She will forever be remembered for her extraordinary artistic talents shown in her memorable, historical landscape paintings, her abundant colorful gardens, her love of music and in her general sense of style, whether as an officer’s wife, a substitute teacher, or an enthusiastic hostess and homemaker. She will always be loved and missed by her family and friends.
Services were held April 16 in Tucker-Quinn Funeral Chapel 643 Putnam Ave., Greenville.
