One of northern Rhode Island’s most senior and recognizable banking professionals has a new home.

Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) recently announced that it hired Lynn Paton as the new Branch Manager, Assistant Vice President and Banking Officer of its Smithfield branch, located at 445 Putnam Pike.

Paton joins the BankRI team after spending more than three decades serving individual and business banking clients across northern Rhode Island with Santander Bank.

In her role as Branch Manager, Assistant Vice President and Banking Officer with BankRI, Paton focuses on business development and long-term growth opportunities for existing and potential customers throughout the state’s northern market. She is also responsible for managing the Smithfield branch’s daily operations, including the hiring and training of the office’s team of financial professionals. In addition to fostering the delivery of the high level of customer service BankRI is known for, Paton will maintain the Bank’s active role in the community.

“We are pleased to add a seasoned professional of Lynn’s caliber to the BankRI team, not only in terms of her expertise but also her intimate knowledge of northern Rhode Island’s business climate and communities,” said Steven M. Parente, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking for BankRI. “As we continue to see an uptick among the financial needs of our customers and prospective clients, there is no question Lynn will be an important asset in helping them meet their banking goals.” A resident of Johnston, Lynn holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from the Community College of Rhode Island. Along with volunteering at events for her local church, she’s often found courtside at Bishop Hendricken basketball games, cheering on her teenage son.
