Johnston Mayor Joseph Polisena yesterday welcomed another new business to town. He presented owner Maureen Gendron an official citation and told a small gathering “it’s small businesses like this that drive our town’s economic engine.” Gendron’s store, which is located at 1500 Atwood Avenue, is named Wags to Whiskers and is a pet bakery/boutique. Also taking part in the welcome party were, from left, Laurente Gendron, Maureen’s father; Polisena, Gendron and her toy Fox Terrier “Milko;” her mother Mary Gendron; and her brother, Dan Gendron, who is vice president of the Woonsocket City Council.
