Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down two cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s November 18 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.49 per gallon. Rhode Island’s price is 10 cents below the national average of $2.59. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 19 cents higher at $2.68 per gallon.

“An increase in gasoline supplies amid robust demand helped to push gas prices lower on the week,” said Lloyd Albert, Senior Vice President of AAA Public and Government Affairs. “We expect to see this trend to continue throughout most of the month, with the exception of Thanksgiving. With nearly 49.3 million Americans expected to travel by car for the holiday, gas prices may start to fluctuate by the end of this week.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 32 cents, from a low of $2.37 to a high of $2.69.
